The Poet

Overview

Young, impetuous Alexander Pushkin is the darling of high society. At every ball, he is the center of attention; admirers idolize his poetic gift, and young women long to capture his interest. Yet neither his aristocratic supporters nor his devoted friends—nor his mounting fame—can prevent him from dueling, being exiled, and ending up penniless. Only upon meeting his true love does he discover life’s deeper purpose, and his genius flourishes, transforming him into the legendary figure the world remembers today.
